Studio Policy

  • Tuition reserves the student’s weekly timeslot in my teaching schedule throughout the year. RT Studio uses a flat monthly subscription based on 46 lessons annually, divided into equal monthly payments over 12 months. This simplifies planning and ensures consistency, regardless of how many lessons fall in a given month.

    1. Tuition is due by the first lesson of each month.

    2. Late payments (after the 15th) will incur a $15 late fee.

    3. Payments can be made via cash, check (payable to RT STUDIO LLC), Zelle (info@rtviolinstudio.com), or credit/debit card.

    4.  A processing fee of 4% applies to card payments.

Monthly Tuition Rates (Based on 46 Lessons/Year)

Tuition increases may occur annually due to inflation. Families will be notified in advance.

    1. Students may use their cellphones or a recording device to record lesson material for home practice. Please notify me if you wish to record the lesson.

    2. A journal or notebook is recommended to track assignments and feedback.

    3. Fingernails are expected to be clipped to an appropriate length before the lesson.

    4. Parents and siblings are welcomed during the lessons.

    1. Monthly calendar reminders will be sent with your scheduled lesson times.

    2. If you are unable to attend a lesson, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice out of courtesy.

    3. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be forfeited. In rare cases of illness, family emergency, or severe weather, the teacher may offer a Zoom/FaceTime option during the scheduled time.

    4. Missed or canceled lessons will not be refunded or individually rescheduled.

    5. Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and are rarely offered, even with notice.

    6. If the teacher must cancel a lesson, it will be rescheduled without penalty.

    7. Tuition reserves your time slot and is billed monthly. All payments are non-refundable, regardless of attendance or withdrawal.

    8. Excessive absences may result in dismissal from the studio.

    • Tardy Policy

      • Students arriving late to in-studio lessons will receive instruction only for the remainder of their scheduled time.

      • If I am late to an in-student's home lesson (weather, car accident, ect.) accommodations will be made on a case-by-case basis.

    • Weather

      • In the event of a hurricane all lessons are canceled until further notice and make-up days will be adjusted.

      • When driving conditions are unsafe, lessons will be conducted online.

  • Please DO NOT attend lessons (or have me arrive) if you or your child is sick (Covid-19, flu, etc.). If the student is  feeling healthy enough, students can attend the lesson on Zoom or Facetime. Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and are only considered under rare circumstances at the teacher’s discretion. Missed lessons due to illness will still follow the studio attendance policy.

  • You may email or message me anytime; I aim to respond within 48 hours.

Students may request video tutorials or send performance recordings for feedback between lessons.

  • Family support is essential for student success. I encourage:

    • Helping younger students maintain consistent practice

    • Encouraging musical curiosity and performance

    • Working as a team to build discipline and motivation

  • There will be at least one recital per year. Attendance and participation are required.

    • A $50 venue fee will be collected in two $25 installments (Fall & Spring).

    • Pianist fees are paid directly to the pianist and are separate from studio costs.

    • All other details about the recital will be sent out as the dates get closer.

  • To end lessons, provide written notice 30 days in advance by email or text. Payment for the final month will still be required. Failure to attend lessons does not excuse payment.

RT Studio reserves the right to terminate lessons for the following:

    • Disrespectful or disruptive behavior.

    • Persistent lack of practice or interest.

    • Repeated missed lessons or unpaid tuition (over two months).
